Assets Over Liabilities
Join hosts Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings (of “Earn Your Leisure” fame) as they’re granted exclusive access into the personal lives and businesses of young entrepreneurs and celebrity guests to answer a critical question: Are they working with assets…or liabilities?
As the Creative Director for the Assets Over Liabilities show, my role was to compose a visually captivating look and feel that emphasized the prominence of the set. By drawing inspiration from hieroglyphics, I integrated symbols representing wealth, money, titles, stocks, digital coins, and more to enhance the interviews without overpowering the visuals. The opening sequence, featuring these symbols subtly incorporated into the frame, created a powerful impact. The set itself was designed to be bold and beautiful, incorporating curated video clips and still images to complement each guest's story. With large screens and a captivating stage design, we created an immersive conversation pit that allowed guests to feel fully engaged in the interview experience. Together, these elements resulted in a cohesive and captivating production that celebrated the narratives of the show's participants.

Set Design
The set design for this project is a multifaceted masterpiece. It serves multiple purposes, starting with shooting our captivating intro hero images, setting the stage for what's to come. Furthermore, the set design seamlessly integrates with our discussions, as we tailor our graphics to align with the topics being explored, projecting them onto a large screen. This allows us to dynamically enhance the conversation with additional graphics and visual elements during post-production, synchronizing them with the imagery reflected on the screen. The versatility of the set design is truly remarkable, as we can instantly transform the ambiance simply by adjusting the colors displayed on the screen and incorporating various scenes, including vibrant city landscapes, colored and dynamic graphics, and mesmerizing abstract art. Through this innovative approach, our set design becomes an integral part of the storytelling process, enriching the visual experience and creating a captivating atmosphere for our audience.
The set design for this project is carefully crafted to ensure a harmonious balance with the on-screen elements. By incorporating minimal furniture, we intentionally prevent any competition with the visuals displayed. This deliberate choice keeps the focus on the captivating graphics and imagery projected onto the screen. Additionally, the thoughtful use of space allows the guests to immerse themselves in an experience that feels more like a conversation pit rather than a traditional set. The intentional design creates an intimate and inclusive environment, where participants feel fully engaged in the discussions, fostering a sense of connection and authenticity. This immersive approach adds a dynamic layer to the project, making it more than just a visual spectacle, but also an interactive and engaging experience for both the guests and the audience.
